True Support Matters
Transcript: In the work that we've been doing, it requires us to build trust. It requires us to be in constant communication. And none of that happens well unless you have a relationship. For Connor and I, we spent on the front end quite a bit of time just getting to know each other so that we can be in spaces together and be able to do what we need to get done without needing to constantly be micromanaging each other or worried about people following up. We do what we say. We come together with a plan, and we're able to just go after the plan and move in a way that allows for change to happen. I consider myself lucky in 2025 to have someone that I'm doing deep and meaningful work with, as well as someone that I could call. That’s funny though, because you and I definitely know what's going on in each other's lives outside of work, and that definitely helps us put our heads together at the right moments to knock everything out that we need to. I've definitely shared some life experiences with Jason over the last year that most people don't know about. The way that the conditions have been created for us as an organization are the exact same conditions that we create for the portfolio companies. I know you and I have been on calls with portfolio founders that are struggling or challenged, and oftentimes it may not even be about the work itself. It can be around aspects of the work or just life experience because it is a lonely space out there for founders that are all trying to bring their biggest dream to life. Having someone that not only has your back, but that's in your corner, really matters. I think we do that for each other, and I believe that we do that as an organization for our investors and our portfolio.
